About

I work as a teaching artist and creative strategist, focused on helping classical musicians build sustainable careers that actually reflect how the field works today. Most of my work lives at the intersection of teaching, infrastructure, and long-term thinking—connecting artistic practice with economic and organizational reality.

A large part of that work happens through New Works Project, where I serve as Executive Director. New Works Project is a nonprofit music organization that commissions, publishes, and distributes new music while providing professional development and shared infrastructure for artists across disciplines. Through that shared infrastructure, we function as an access point into the classical music ecosystem—helping artists and communities find practical pathways for creation, collaboration, and sustainability. Alongside this work, I’m also Sales Manager for B. Corbin Clarinet Products, where I lead dealer sales and relationships across North America, work directly with artists, and support long-term brand growth through product strategy, market development, and collaboration with international manufacturing partners.

Teaching is the throughline that connects everything else I do. My work spans higher education and private instruction, with an emphasis on technical clarity, reflective practice, and long-term sustainability. At Northwest Arkansas Community College, I conduct the orchestra and teach applied woodwinds. I also maintain a private woodwind studio, where the focus goes beyond notes and excerpts—integrating musicianship, physical awareness, career literacy, and personal alignment to help students navigate the realities of portfolio-based artistic lives.

My performance work centers on contemporary repertoire and collaborative chamber music. Current projects include Cynical Duo, a single-reed duo focused on new and underrepresented works; Apollo Duo, a single-reed and oboe duo with my partner, oboist Em Lindsey; and Quintessence, a reed quintet in which I serve as the soprano clarinet chair. These ensembles reflect my interest in flexible instrumentation, close collaboration, and creating performance contexts that align with the realities of modern artistic practice.

Recent appearances include the University of Arkansas SHE Festival of Women in Music (2025, with an upcoming appearance in 2026) and the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference at Oklahoma State University (2023, 2024). Earlier engagements include performances and presentations at the International Clarinet Association and universities throughout the southern and midwestern United States.

My academic background includes an MBA in Arts Innovation (2025) through the Global Leaders Institute for Arts Innovation, a Master of Music (2020) and Advanced Performance Certificate (2021) in Woodwind Performance from the University of Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (2015) from Friends University. My teachers include Eric Troiano, Nophachai Cholthitchanta, Rachelle Goter, Courtney Long, Lisa Hittle, and Jeff Pelischek.

I am a D’Addario Woodwinds Artist and perform on D’Addario Reserve reeds. Through my work with B. Corbin Clarinet Products, I perform on Royal Global clarinets with B. Corbin barrels and mouthpieces.

Across all of this work, I approach teaching and strategy as inseparable. My goal is not to replicate outdated, single-track career models, but to help artists build whole, adaptable professional lives that can actually last.
